Our Commitment: SquatchRV does not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. We collect only what's needed to connect renters with hosts and keep the platform safe.
Information We Collect
SquatchRV collects information that you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform. This may include:
Full name and email address
Phone number
Account login credentials
Profile photo
Driver's license information and driving history
Payment method details (processed securely — see Section 3)
Mailing address and billing address
Rental history, booking records, and trip details
Messages sent and received through the SquatchRV messaging system
Photos uploaded to listings, reviews, or damage reports
Listing details including vehicle specs, pricing, location, and availability
Reviews and ratings you leave or receive
Device information, browser type, IP address, and general app usage data
We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate a safe, functional camper rental marketplace.
Why We Collect Information
SquatchRV uses the information we collect for the following purposes:
To create and manage your user account
To process bookings, payments, and refunds
To verify your identity, age, and driver eligibility
To prevent fraud, scams, and unauthorized transactions
To support insurance claims, damage reports, and dispute resolution
To process host payouts and renter charges through approved payment systems
To improve the platform's features, performance, and reliability
To provide customer support and respond to user inquiries
To send booking confirmations, reminders, and important account updates
To enforce platform rules and Terms of Service
We do not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Payment Information
All payments on SquatchRV are processed through approved third-party payment providers (currently PayPal). These providers handle payment card data under their own security standards and certifications.
SquatchRV does not store full credit card numbers, CVVs, or banking credentials on our servers. We may store limited transaction records — such as payment confirmation IDs, amounts, and dates — for bookkeeping, refund processing, and dispute resolution.
By using SquatchRV, you agree to the payment processor's terms and privacy practices in addition to ours.
Identity and Driver Verification
To protect the safety of our community, SquatchRV may use internal tools or third-party verification providers to confirm:
Your identity matches the information on your account
Your driver's license is valid and meets rental requirements
You meet the minimum age requirement (typically 25 years old)
Your account ownership is legitimate and not fraudulent
Your payment method belongs to you
Verification documents are processed securely. Where third-party providers are used, their own privacy policies apply to data they handle. SquatchRV retains only the verification result (pass/fail) and minimal reference data — not copies of identity documents — unless required by law.
Messages and Communication Safety
SquatchRV may monitor, scan, or review messages sent through the platform messaging system. This is done to:
Detect and prevent fraud or scam attempts
Identify off-platform transaction attempts that bypass safety protections
Prevent harassment, threats, or abusive behavior
Flag unsafe activity or violations of platform rules
Protect contact information from being shared before booking confirmation
Message filtering is automated where possible. In some cases, SquatchRV support staff may manually review flagged messages. We do not monitor external communications outside the SquatchRV platform.
Insurance and Claims
If a booking involves damage, an accident, theft, injury, a dispute, or an insurance claim, SquatchRV may need to share relevant information to process the claim. This may include:
Booking records and rental agreement details
Photos uploaded before, during, or after the trip
Messages between the renter and host
User account information (name, contact details)
Payment records and transaction history
Trip details including dates, locations, and vehicle information
This information may be shared with:
Insurance underwriters and coverage providers
Claims administrators and adjusters
Legal advisors retained by SquatchRV
Law enforcement, when required by law or to protect safety
SquatchRV shares only the information reasonably necessary to process the claim or comply with legal obligations.
Information Sharing
SquatchRV may share limited user information with the following parties, only as necessary to operate the platform:
Hosts — receive renter name and contact info after booking confirmation
Renters — receive host name, listing details, and contact info after booking confirmation
Payment processors — receive payment data to process transactions
Identity and driver verification providers — receive documents to verify eligibility
Insurance partners — receive booking and user data to process coverage and claims
Customer support tools — receive account data to resolve inquiries
Analytics providers — receive anonymized usage data to improve the platform
Legal authorities — receive user data when required by law, court order, or subpoena
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for marketing purposes. We share only what is necessary, with parties who have a legitimate need.
Data Security
SquatchRV uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect user information. These include:
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
Secure authentication and session management
Access controls limiting who can view sensitive data
Regular review of security practices
However, no system can guarantee complete security. By using SquatchRV, you acknowledge that transmitting information over the internet carries inherent risk, and you use the platform at your own discretion.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@squatchrv.com immediately.
User Choices
You have the following choices regarding your information:
You may update your profile information, phone number, and notification preferences at any time through your account settings
You may request a summary of the personal data SquatchRV holds about you
You may request correction of inaccurate information
You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements
You may opt out of promotional emails (booking-related communications cannot be opted out of while you have active rentals)
To make any of these requests, contact privacy@squatchrv.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Updates
SquatchRV may update this Privacy Policy as the platform grows, new features are added, laws change, or our practices evolve. When we make material changes, we will:
Post the updated Privacy Policy with a revised effective date
Notify users via email or in-platform notice at least 14 days before changes take effect, where reasonably practicable
Your continued use of SquatchRV after updated terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should stop using the platform and contact us about account deletion.
